Approximately 1.2 billion people in the world live in extreme poverty (less than one dollar per day). Poverty creates ill-health because it forces people to live in environments that make them sick, without decent shelter, clean water or adequate sanitation.

FOHA supports communities to design and implement 'pro-poor' health policies, that is, health policies which prioritize and respond to the needs of poor people. This work includes global advocacy, regional initiatives and direct support to ministries of health and health facilities  in pro poor communities

FOHA CEO Rev.Jefferson is calling on all especially duty bearers, individuals, religious bodies to get involved in the fight against poverty since it impacts negatively on the health of all especially the weak and the vulnerable in the hard to reach communities. FOHA has being on the fore front of public health campaigns for the past 11 years now in Ghana.
